Research in the area of education at EUSS investigates aspects related to epistemology and didactics at different educational levels, study on active learning methodologies, simulation tools in the field of engineering, the incorporation of technology in the classroom to allow various student approaches to the subjects, such as videos or questionnaires with feedback, etc.
Active learning methods in which students participate in different practical, problem-solving and open-ended research activities have proven to be very effective in gaining a deeper understanding and in helping to develop technical and transversal competences in engineering.
For more than 20 years at EUSS, we have been researching collaborative active learning methods, project and enquiry-based learning, ICT-supported methods, competence development, etc. These methods align with our University's ‘Engineering by Doing’ spirit.
